Rob Cross, Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price (8/1 – Premier League Outright) are in danger of being eliminated from the Premier League as Phase 1 of the competition draws to a close on Thursday with Judgement Night.
After an exciting round of fixtures on Wednesday, Judgement Night is set to provide further drama as the bottom-placed player will be cut.
Cross props up the standings with just five points after winning one and drawing three of his eight matches and his hopes of staying in the Premier League look slim.
The 29-year-old faces table-topper Glen Durrant, who defeated Michael van Gerwen 7-3 on Wednesday, at Marshall Arena (Match betting – Durrant 5/6, Draw 16/5, Cross 13/5).
Gurney sits one place and one point better off than Cross after winning his last two engagements against Chris Dobey and Nathan Aspinall.
‘SuperChin’ requires a win over Peter Wright on Thursday to be certain of his place in Phase 2 of the re-formatted competition (Match betting – Wright 4/6, Draw 18/5, Gurney 3/1).
Price is set to face challenger Jermaine Wattimena and can seal his spot in the next stage with just a draw following Wednesday’s 7-1 thrashing of Gary Anderson (Match betting – Wattimena 18/5, Draw 4/1, Price 8/15).
The remaining six competitors are already guaranteed a berth in Phase 2 but will be keen to add to their points tally.
Durrant’s (7/1 – Premier League Outright) impressive triumph over Van Gerwen has him sitting two points clear of the Dutchman at the top of the table.
Wright eased to a 7-1 win against challenger Jeffrey de Zwaan on Wednesday and sits third, although he is level on points with world number one Van Gerwen.
Michael Smith is fourth, having beaten Cross 7-3 last time out, with Aspinall and Anderson in fifth and sixth respectively.
