French manufacturer announces improvements to its gravel collection with a new, non-RS bike and updates to its RS and electric models

Look has revealed its 2021 range of gravel bikes with the new Look 765 Gravel range.

The French manufacturer’s updated 765 Gravel collection includes a new, more affordable non-RS model, a lighter, gravel optimised carbon frame on the RS and an update to the E-765’s Fazua motor.

Launched in 2019, Look’s gravel range was initially focused on speed and racing with the 765 Gravel RS and E-765 Gravel. With the introduction of the standard alloy 765 Gravel this year though the emphasis is on versatility.

The range now starts at £2,499 for the Shimano 105-equipped matte black 765 Gravel. A second option boasts the specialist Shimano GRX 600 and costs £2,990.

The updated 765 Gravel RS bikes, one with Shimano GRX 800 and the other with Sram Force eTap AXS, have a gravel-optimised carbon frame that Look says is 200g lighter. According to the brand, the 765 Gravel RS’ ‘3D Wave’ seatstays increase compliance by 15%.

With versatility the main aim, it comes with 40mm tyres that should balance road performance with off-road capability. Look says the bike pairs just as well with 700c road wheels and 28mm tyres as it does with 650b gravel wheels and 54mm tyres.

The E-765 Gravel’s Fazua Evation motor is the lightest in its category. As such Look says the complete bike weighs just 13.9kg (size M).

New for 2021 is the motor’s ‘Black Pepper’ update. It is said to improve feel and performance, giving the ideal – and most efficient – assistance even at 120rpm.
