Over the weekend, the annual Premier League fantasy football game was released with all of the players who are due to play in English’s first division next season. As most of you will know, below each player, it says who they are meant to be playing in the next game week so that you know if they will perform well or not.
Obviously, the Premier League have had a blunder here and they have accidentally released the fixtures for the first match day through the medium of this app.
Eagle-eyed fantasy football league players have spotted the leak and have posted it on Twitter to share with their fellow football fans, increasing the hype for the upcoming season.
Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham have been promoted to the Premier League from the Championship and Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich have been relegated back to the Championship.
The season is supposed to begin on the 12th of September, almost a month later than it normally would as a result of the coronavirus shutdown. However, the fixtures haven’t been released officially yet.
The leaked fixtures are as follows:
- Brighton vs Sheffield United
- Chelsea vs Southampton
- Everton vs Fulham
- Leeds vs Newcastle
- Manchester City vs Crystal Palace
- Tottenham vs Arsenal
- West Bromwich Albion vs Burnley
- West Ham vs Burnley
- Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester
If this leak is correct, we are set to have some great, opening day fixtures. Tottenham Hotspur hosting Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is a standout fixture for me, personally. It will be one hell of a game and I will look forwards to it on the opening game of the season. Two top-quality teams will be battling it out for the 3 points.
Newcastle will be making the trip across the country to Elland Road in a game which is sure to be a classic. Both teams last met when Newcastle were relegated from the Premier League into the Championship, where Leeds lost. However, I tip Leeds to win this one. Bielsa will be running these players round the training ground and I have no doubt that they will be one of the fittest teams in the league. Newcastle, on the other hand, have Steve Bruce at the wheel. I believe that if Newcastle are wanting a top half finish this season, they need a new manager, new owners and new players to bring a breath of fresh air into the club. Currently, Newcastle are a shambles of a club and something needs to change.
So, what do you think about these leaks? Do you think that they are correct? Will the Premier League change them? Leave your thoughts below in the comment section.
