The British heavyweights clash Saturday on ESPN+.

Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce are just three days away from their big heavyweight bout in London for the British, Commonwealth, and European titles, plus high rankings with the sanctioning bodies as the winner will also be looking toward a world title fight, perhaps by the end of 2021.

Joyce definitely has his eye on top ranking with the WBC (the fight is also for their “silver” title) and the WBO, where Dubois is currently the No. 2-ranked contender.

The 23-year-old Dubois (15-0, 14 KO) is the younger man and the betting favorite. He tells ESPN he’s not looking ahead to anything else at the moment:

“I look at one fight at a time. This is a top fight, and I’ll bring my A game. I’m looking forward to putting on a show.”

The 35-year-old Joyce (11-0, 10 KO) is definitely a dangerous opponent for the prospect, but so is Dubois for Joyce, who needs to make a serious move toward a world title fight if he’s going to do it. It’s not “now or never,” necessarily, but there isn’t a huge window for the 2016 Olympic silver medalist, either, at least in terms of potentially having a decent shot at actually winning in a world title fight.
